Tin Foiled Post Production

I’m in the final stages of a long gestating and quite complex documentary project called “Tin Foiled”, which will be an alternate look at the current discussion around conspiracy theory. Originally it was planned as a one off mini doc, but since the breadth of the subject is huge and the amount of research material has been time consuming to collect, it’s seems better served to be released as a mini series of films. While there is still quite a large chunk of post production work on the table, I’m quietly confident the first of the films will be ready to start releasing in the first part of 2026.

This project started out in late 2020, but has really only just recently started to take its current form, following a major reworking over the last few months. One of the biggest challenges of editing this kind of project is organising the various materials and keeping traceable tabs on all the documentation, alongside the usual wrangling of large amounts of material.

Audio

I’d really hoped from the start that a major element of Tin Foiled would be soundtrack driven. The dark electronic theme I’d set out on, has branched off into multiple rabbit holes along the way, with many of the score elements coming from the sound design stage. As there have been multiple revisions in the edit, I’ve found myself jumping between Final Cut Pro and my audio software ( Logic and Nuendo ), but am managing the lions share of the fairly large 5.1 mix with the help of Final Cut Pros audio roles.

There will be a small launch campaign running from January, with a series of short reels and teasers, which I’m prepping right now. In the meantime, for more info on the series, please head over to the project page
