The Breakwaters
A documentary film of life on a shifting coastline
The Breakwaters, is a forthcoming mid length documentary film, exploring the delicate nature of the coastlines around the Tendring peninsular on the North Essex coast and the people whose lives are interwoven with the shifting landscape.
Drawing from the proverb “time and tide wait for no man “, the film will examine the changing nature of the local communities and traditions, using the backdrop of the shifting North Sea coastline as a metaphorical clock. Combining the natural beauty of the area, the harsh reality of the ocean and coastline, with the sentiments, feelings and insights of the coastal community, who’s lives are intertwined with the fragile nature of the East Coast.
The film is currently in production, with a release campaign due for late summer/early autumn 2026. For more info and to keep up to date, please consider subscribing, or use the contact page for enquiries.
