Scratchtapes Interface

I’ve just added a new mini pack to the Scratchtapes page. Interface, which started out as a free template, is a collection of 10 Final Cut Pro templates, for creating retro sci fi, lo tech interfaces and communication screens.

Whilst working on the Tin Foiled conspiracy documentary over the last year, I’ve increasingly been looking for different ways of presenting screen based archive material, video calls and also finding more interesting ways to present large images and archive documents. I’ve bundled 10 of my most used effects templates into this mini pack.

Some of the effects are inspired by real interfaces in 70’s/80’s Sci Fi..The inspiration for the Rangefinder and Replicant Scanner effects should be fairly obvious ( is there anyone who’s never wanted one of those image enhancers? ). Combing them with text and then layering can create some really grungy results. Check out a demo below. If you find yourself regularly using the built in effects like line screen, or bad tv, then this mini pack, offers a tuned up and retro futurism take on these effects. Great for creating low fi futuristic huds, screens and interfaces.
